Install dust cover (2), with outside lip down, in
bore of clutch housing (4). Gently tap in place

Using snap ring plier, install the retaining ring (1).

Install replacement brake shoes (10) over
weights (11) and hook two springs (9) on each
side.
10. Install the assembled brake shoes, weights and
springs into the clutch housing by pulling the
brake shoes apart and seating the weights and
brake shoes around the center shaft.
11. Install the outer shield (7) and secure with two
screws (6).

Ensure that threads on engine crankshaft are
clean.
2.
Thread the clutch assembly onto the crankshaft.
With torque wrench fitted with a 12mm hex key
driver, torque clutch to 170-184 ft-lbs (230-250
Nm).
3.
Using a 10 mm hex key, insert key through larger
hex opening in clutch center shaft hub and en-
gage key in hex opening of the inner locking plug.
Turn key clockwise to tighten the locking plug
against end of crankshaft.
NOTE
If the engine has been replaced or re-in-
stalled, it will be necessary to loosen the
engine mounting screws and shift the en-
