NOTE
Adjustment of eccentrics on both sides of
unit is required to maintain alignment of
pulleys.

If v-belt cover has not been removed, remove
the cover as follows.

Remove four capscrews (1), lockwashers
(2), and flat washers (3).

Remove the v-belt cover (4) from engine
crankcase.

Remove four capscrews (5), lockwashers (6),
and flat washers (7) and the v-belt guard (8)
from the vibrator assembly.

Cut the old v-belt (9), remove from compactor
and discard.

Install new v-belt (9) first feeding the belt down
through opening in engine base and then install-
ing around the pulley (10) at the vibrator assem-
bly.
5.
Pull up on the v-belt (9) and starting on the right
side of the clutch pulley (11), slowly rotate the
clutch counterclockwise while guiding the v-belt
over the rim and into pulley groove.
6.
Rotate clutch a few times to seat the v-belt in the
groove.
7.
Check tension (INSPECT, above), and adjust as
necessary.
8.
Install the lower v-belt guard (8), securing with
four flat washers (7), lockwashers (6) and cap-
screws (5). Tighten capscrews securely.
9.
Install the upper v-belt cover (4) and secure with
the four flat washers (3), lockwashers (2), and
capscrews (1). Tighten capscrews securely.
NOTE
Follow-on tasks include: Return compactor
to service.
