Remove the element (9) from the cup (8) and
empty the cup of any accumulated dirt or dust
Discard the used element.
7.
If replacement is required, remove stud (10) from
the housing (7).
WARNING
P-D-680, Type Ill, is moderately toxic to
the skin, eyes and respiratory tract;
avoid prolonged exposure. Skin and
eye protection is required. Good ventila-
tion is required. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point is
200 F (93.3 C).

Clean all parts in dry cleaning solvent and dry
thoroughly
2.
Ensure that all gasket material IS removed from
both the mounting flange of the housing (7) and
the mounting flange on the cylinder head.

inspect cover (2), pot (3), intake ring (4), base
ring (5) and cup (8) for dents, distortion, or dam-
aged mating surfaces.
2.
Inspect retaining clips (6) for distortion or damage
that reduces their ability to retain the cup (8) se-
curely.
3.
Inspect housing (7) for cracks or damaged mat-
ing surfaces.
4.
Inspect stud (10) and wing nut (1) for stripped
threads, or loose mounting in housing (7).
5.
inspect air cleaner mounting studs for damaged
threads or bent condition.
