12.
Lay the engine down on the flywheel side to pro-
vide access to the bottom inspection cover.
13. Push the piston down in the cylinder, guiding the
connecting rod onto the crankshaft journal.
14. Oil the lower bearing half installed in the rod
cap (6). Install the rod cap (6) with lower bearing
half, ensuring that the numbered side of cap is on
same side as rod is numbered.
14. Install the two connecting rod nuts (4), and
tighten nuts to 20 - 23 ft-lbs (27 - 31 Nm) with
torque wrench fitted with a 13 mm socket.

Install cover (2) and gasket (3), securing with six
machine screws (1). Tighten screws securely.
16. Set the engine upright.
17. Install the governor (Para. 5-17).
Install the gear cover (Para. 5-14).

20. Install the engine on compactor (Para. 5-3).
