7-9. FRONT GEAR HOUSING REPLACEMENT (CONT).
Make sure that the piston touches
the intake valve with
approximately the same amount
of force as in the previous step.
(10)
Rotate crankshaft pulley (1) in the direction
of normal engine rotation until the piston
touches the intake valve.
(11)
Mark crankshaft pulley (1) at the wire
pointer.
(12)
Measure the distance and mark the
crankshaft pulley (1) at one-half the
distance between the two marks. This
mark is the TDC mark.
Completely loosen the intake
valve adjusting screw. Failure to
do so will result in damage to the
intake valve or push rod when the
crankshaft is rotated.
(13)
Completely loosen intake valve adjustment
screw (5).
(14)
Rotate crankshaft pulley (1) in the direction
of normal engine rotation until the pointer
is aligned with the TDC mark, then rotate
the crankshaft pulley one additional
revolution.
