INSPECTION
With valves (2 and 9) installed in cylinder head,

Inspect valves (2 and 9) for scoring on the 45

Inspect stems of valves (2 and 9) and valve
guides (14) as follows:

Install exhaust valve (2) in cylinder head with
stem extending fully through the valve guide
Inspect exhaust roto cap (5), by spinning the cap.

Binding movement or presence of a rattling

Using a dial indicator set at measuring point
sound indicate a defective roto cap.
on valve stem as indicated, shift the valve
stem laterally and note the amount of move-
ment. If movement exceeds 0 0059 in (0.15
mm). both the valve and the valve guide must
be rep!aced.
