7.
Replace any part found to be worn beyond limits
or damaged in any way.
REPAIR
1.
Remove hex nut (1) and adjusting screw (2) from
either rocker arm (3 or 4).
2. Replace defective part.
3.
Install adjusting screw (2) into rocker arm (3 or 4).
4.
Install hex nut (1) on adjusting screw finger tight.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install push rods, ensuring that they are fully
seated into cam followers of the compression re-
lease. Note that the push rod next to the cylinder
serves the intake valve, and the outer push rod
serves the exhaust valve.
NOTE
The exhaust rocker arm and the intake
rocker arm are similar. When holding the
rocker arms with the adjusting screw to-
ward you, the exhaust rocker arm has the
arm offset to the left and the intake rocker
arm is offset to the right.
2.
Install rocker arm shaft with a soft hammer, start-
ing the shaft into the cylinder head and install the
rocker arms, with offset of each arm to the out-
side.
