MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Step 2. Check linings on clutch brake shoes for wear.
Replace worn clutch brake shoes (Para. 4-26).
5. VIBRATION OUTPUT OF COMPACTOR IS NOTICEABLY SLOW
Step 1. Check for loose v-belt.
Adjust tension of v-belt (Para. 4-25).
Step 2. Check oil level in vibrator.
NOTE
Both too much oil and insufficient oil may result in this malfunction. Insufficient oil will cause bearings to
run hot.
Top off oil to level plug opening (Para. 4-13).
6. COMPACTOR TRAVELS IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY
Step 1. Check direction control cable for proper adjustment.
Adjust direction control cable (Para. 4-19)
Step 2. Check direction control cable for damage.
Replace direction control cable (Para. 4-19).
