Erratic, Intermittent, or
Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor
Incorrect
connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit.
Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure and that all
connections are in good condition. If a problem with the connection is
found, correct the problem and verify that this malfunction or diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short-circuit test at each harness connection to identify
the correct harness to replace.
Tag all wiring harnesses to aid in installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE SET CONDITION
Monitoring System Fails to Receive Expected Data From Display Module(s).
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Dash Wring Harness High Resistance, Open, or Shorted.
Speedometer/Tachometer Display Module.
Quad Gauge Module.
Tractor Operator Monitor.
Test Step 1. Check For Other Active
Codes.
1. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. At MSD, check for active
821-3 Display Power Supply Voltage
diagnostic code 821-3 Display
Above Normal Active Diagnose and
Power Supply Voltage Above
repair active code
Normal or code 821-4 Display
(WP 0100).
Power Supply Voltage Below
821-4 Display Power Supply Voltage
Normal (WP 0008).
Below Normal Active Diagnose and
repair active code
(WP 0100).
Only 819-2 Display Data Link Erratic,
Intermittent, or Incorrect Active
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Test Step 2. Inspect Speedometer/
Tachometer Display Module for
Damage.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
