CAUTION
When operating at less than full throt-
tle, do not allow operation at a speed
that allows the centrifugal clutch to slip
(excessive vibration without plate move-
ment). Pre-mature failure of the clutch
and/or v-belt may result.

than full throttle speed operation.
WARNING
Ensure that compactor is not operated
into personnel or other equipment on
the job site. Injury to personnel or dam-
age to the compactor or other equip-
ment may result.

For forward travel, push the direction of travel
control lever fully forward.

For reverse travel, pull the direction of travel con-
trol lever fully to the rear
CAUTION
Do not guide compactor over steep em-
bankments or operate off drop-offs. The
compactor may roll and be damaged.

2-7. STOPPING THE COMPACTOR

Push the throttle control lever forward to a low en-
gine rpm and allow engine speed to stabilize at
idle.
CAUTION
Do not use the decompression knob to
stop the engine. Do not stop the engine
with engine at full speed. Damage to
the engine will result.
Continue to push the throttle control lever fully for-

ward and hold in this position until engine stops.
