Operation at high altitudes or in cold ambient temperatures may
cause this malfunction.
Step 1. Check for restricted or blocked air intake.
Service the pre-cleaner and/or replace the air cleaner element (Para. 3-6).

The following procedures describe those maintenance actions authorized to be performed by the operator of the
plate compactor. Personnel should notify unit maintenance if during performance of these maintenance functions,
they observe damage or equipment malfunction.
