If inspection reveals the presence of scoring
on the bearing surfaces, replace the connect-
ing rod bearing halves (8).
NOTE
The presence of scoring on the connecting
rod bearing (8) inner surfaces, requires
that the crankshaft bearing journal be in-
spected (Para. 5-20).

Inspect the connecting rod (7) and the cap (6) for
cracks or other damage. Replace connecting rod
and cap if damaged in any way.
