c. Push down firmly on the connecting rod (7)
and read dial. The maximum allowable radial
bearing play is 0.0043 in. (0.110 mm).
d. If radial bearing play exceeds maximum, no-
tify general support maintenance for repair of
the crankshaft, and continue with removal of
connecting rod. If bearing play is less than
0.0043 in. (0.1110mm), further removal is not
necessary unless crankshaft is to be re-
moved.
8. Using a 13 mm socket, remove the two connect-
ing rod nuts (4), and remove the connecting rod
cap (6).
9. Remove connecting rod (7) from top of engine
housing.
NOTE
Prior to removing the connecting rod bear-
ing halves (8), mark edge of bearing and
the connecting rod or cap to ensure re-
placement in the same place if bearing is
reinstalled.
10. Remove connecting rod bearing halves (8) from
the connecting rod cap (6) and the rod (7).
