REMOVAL CONTINUED
2. Attach sling (Figure 2, Item 2) and lifting device to wheel (Figure 2, Item 1).
WARNING
Gear oil will drain from hub when hub cap is removed. Wipe up spills immediately fluid can
be very slippery. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
To prevent injury to personnel, wear protective eye covering and gloves.
NOTE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid
with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any
component containing fluids.
Use a container to catch any fluid that may drain from hoses or system. Dispose of fluid
IAW local policy and ordinances. Ensure all spills are cleaned up.
3. Position drain pan under wheel (Figure 2, Item 1).
4. Remove eight bolts (Figure 2, Item 5) and washers (Figure 2, Item 6) from hub cap (Figure 2, Item 3).
5. Remove hub cap (Figure 2, Item 3) and O-ring (Figure 2, Item 4) from wheel (Figure 2, Item 1). Discard O-ring.
