16. Subtract thickness of retainer from depth measurement.
17. Add 0.012 in (0.30 mm) to difference of depth measurement and thickness of retainer to attain shim thickness
required.

18. Install shims (Figure 23, Item 5), retainer (Figure 23, Item 6), six washers (Figure 23, Item 4), and bolts
(Figure 23, Item 3) on tire and wheel assembly (Figure 23, Item 7). Tighten bolts to 30 lb-ft (41 Nm).
19. With assistance, remove two slings (Figure 23, Item 1) and chain hoist (Figure 23, Item 2) from tire and wheel
assembly (Figure 23, Item 7).
NOTE
Alternate between rotating wheel and tightening bolts. Rotate wheel at least one
revolution between bolts.
20. While rotating front tire and wheel assembly (Figure 23, Item 7), tighten six bolts (Figure 23, Item 3) to 200 lb-ft
(271 Nm).
