BRAKE SHOE INSTALLATION CONTINUED
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to
personnel.
NOTE
Brake shoe weighs 62 lb (28 kg).
Support lower brake shoe while installing spring.
7. With assistance, raise lower brake shoe (Figure 17, Item 3) into position and install two springs
(Figure 17, Item 2) on upper brake shoe (Figure 17, Item 1) and lower brake shoe (Figure 17, Item 3).

8. Apply grease to washers (Figure 18, Items 2 and 3) and splines on camshaft (Figure 18, Item 1) prior to
installing camshaft .
