INTRODUCTION
00021
1. This work package describes how to prepare the Military 621G Scraper for the following modes of transport:
a. Marine transport roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) procedures.
b. Rail transport procedures for CONUS and OCONUS.
c.
Highway transport using commercial or military trailers.
2. If machine is parked indoors for long term storage, remove solargizer fuses to prevent battery damage.
3. The Military 621G Scraper is not approved for air transport.
4. Check travel route for overpass clearances. Be sure that there is adequate clearance for Rollover Protective
Structure (ROPS) and heater assembly. Observe laws for width, weight, and hauling permits.

MARINE TRANSPORT

Introduction
00021
1. This section describes how to load and unload the Military 621G Scraper on ships using RO/RO procedures in
preparation for marine transport.
2. At all times, the machine's movements are under the overall control of the RO/RO vehicle director. Loading
and unloading is accomplished by following the vehicle director's traffic control pattern.
3. Machines are loaded by moving them from dockside to the appropriate level and hold onboard ship. Once
parked, crews secure machines for shipping by lashing, shoring, blocking, or bracing, as appropriate. Unload-
ing is accomplished by moving machines from onboard ship to dockside.
4. In order to accomplish RO/RO, the machine must operate up and down ramps. The grade of the ramps will
vary, depending on the tide and the weight of the ship at the time of loading or unloading. Ground guide assis-
tance is MANDATORY when operating on ramps.
5. In order to ensure the safety of all personnel involved, the machine operator must be familiar with all RO/RO
regulations and procedures.
