Unload Machine from Flatcar

1. Remove tiedowns, blocking, and shoring from machine. Remove protective coverings from lights and wind-
shield.
2. Remove tape from exhaust pipe.
WARN I N G
Hitch and steering movement can reduce clearances suddenly. Always stop engine
BEFORE working in area of hitch link.
Always use a ground guide when moving machine during preparation for transport
procedures (driving up and down ramps or onto flatcars).
Failure to follow these warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
3. Start engine and allow to warm up. Raise bowl. Following instructions from railcar loadmaster and ground
guides, slowly drive straight off flatcars until clear of railhead.
a. Use 1st gear ONLY.
b. When passing over spanners between flatcars, maintain a constant speed. Do NOT jam on brakes or
reverse direction.

Park machine where directed. Place transmission in N (Neutral), apply park brake, and lower bowl to the
ground. Shut down engine.

1. This section describes how to load machine onto a trailer in preparation for ground transport.
2. Ground guide assistance is MANDATORY when loading or unloading machine from trailer.
3. Before transporting machine, check with proper authorities to obtain necessary permits and ensure there is
adequate clearance for ROPS.
4. A parking platform (Figure 1, Item 2) approximately 12 in. (30.48 cm) high is required under front axle
(Figure 1, Item 1) to provide clearance between belly of Military 621G Scraper (Figure 1, Item 3) and trailer
gooseneck (Figure 1, Item 4).
5. Throughout procedure, be aware of potential hazards when working around hitch. Do NOT work in area of
hitch link unless engine is shut down.
