WARN I N G
All personnel working in machine operating areas during RO/RO must wear hearing
protection. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
2. All personnel working in machine operating areas must wear hearing protection.
3. Do not move machine about the ship without a ground guide present.
4. Do not start machine until directed to do so. Before moving out, test brakes.
5. Operate machine with lights on.
6. Only one vehicle may transit a ramp at any time.
7. Do not leave machine engine running unattended.
8. Fuel tank on machine must be filled in accordance with Surface Deployment and Distribution Command
(SDDC) port call message.
RO/RO Load Procedure

1. At all times, follow ground guide instructions when moving about the ship.
2. Negotiate ramps in 1st gear ONLY.
3. Raise or lower scraper bowl as required to clear the crest of ramps.
4. After loading, park machine where directed to do so:
a. Place transmission in N (Neutral).
b. Apply park brake.
c.
Move ejector all the way to the rear and close apron.
d. Lower bowl and position cutting edge onto suitable shoring.
e. Shut down engine and secure machine against vandalism.
5. Provide assistance, as required, to ship's crew in blocking/shoring/lashing machine for transport.
RO/RO Unload Procedure

1. Provide assistance, as required, to ship's crew in removing blocking/shoring/lashing on machine.
2. Adjust interior and exterior mirrors as necessary.
3. Follow ground guide instructions when moving about the ship.
4. Negotiate ramps in 1st gear ONLY.
5. Raise or lower scraper bowl as required to clear the crest of ramps.
6. After unloading, park machine where directed to do so:
a. Place transmission in N (Neutral).
b. Apply park brake.
c.
Move ejector all the way to the rear and close apron.
d. Lower bowl to ground and shut down engine.
e. Secure machine against vandalism.
