4-104. BREATHER REPLACEMENT (CONT)
c. Installation.
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can
burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and are
harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or
death, keep away from open fire and use in a well
ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing
compound
gets
on
skin
or
clothing,
wash
immediately with soap and water.
(1)
Apply pipe thread sealing compound to all
threads.
(2)
Assemble connector (6), and breather pipe (7)
using pliers.
(3)
Install breather pipe (7) in hydraulic reservoir
(8), and tighten using pliers.
(4)
Install reducer fitting (5), and reducer (4) using a
7/8 in. and 5/8 in. open end wrenches.
(5)
Install filter (3), breather (2), and screw (1) using
cross tip screwdriver.
