CRANKCASE GUARD LOWERING

WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure
to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Crankcase guard weighs approximately 450 lb (204 kg).
Note size and location of bolts prior to removal to aid in installation.
1. Attach sling (Figure 1, Item 7) and chain hoist (Figure 1, Item 6) to crankcase guard (Figure 1, Item 1).
Attach sling (Figure 1, Item 5) to front bumper (Figure 1, Item 4), and attach chain hoist
(Figure 1, Item 6) to sling (Figure 1, Item 5
2. Support crankcase guard (Figure 1, Item 1) with slings (Figure 1, Item 5 and 7) and chain hoist
(Figure 1, Item 6).
3. Remove 18 bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) and bushings (Figure 1, Item 2) from crankcase guard (Figure 1, Item 1).
4. With assistance and chain hoist (Figure 1, Item 6), lower crankcase guard (Figure 1, Item 1) to ground.
5. Remove slings (Figure 1, Items5 and 7) and chain hoist (Figure 1, Item 6) from front crankcase guard
(Figure 1, Item 1) and front bumper (Figure 1, Item 4).
