0702-03 Transmission Gear
Shifter Circuit Function.
Lever Selector Sensor
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
(Switch) Voltage Above
disconnect switch to OFF position
Normal Continued
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 2 and terminal 3 of
connector CG-C13 (WP 0012,
Figure 304).
3. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
4. At MSD, check for active
702-4 Transmission Gear Lever
diagnostic code 702-3
Selector Sensor (Switch) Voltage
Transmission Gear Lever Selector
Below Normal Becomes Active
Sensor (Switch) Voltage Above
Replace transmission control
Normal (WP 0008).
(WP 0502).
Proceed to Test Step 9.
702-3 Transmission Gear Lever
Selector Sensor (Switch) Voltage
Above Normal Remains Active
Replace transmission/chassis ECM
(WP 0495).
Proceed to Test Step 9.
Test Step 8. Test Fuse Panel Wiring
Harness for High Resistance or
Open.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 1 and terminal 2
of connector CG-C13
(WP 0012, Figure 304).
3. Disconnect connector CG-C1
(WP 0012, Figure 283)
from connector W-C8
(WP 0012, Figure 282).
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0540), measure resistance
Replace main cab wiring harness
between connector CG-C1
(WP 0505).
terminal 1 and terminal 67
Proceed to Test Step 9.
(WP 0012, Figure 283).
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
Replace fuse panel wiring harness
(WP 0515).
Proceed to Test Step 9.
