Harness for High Resistance or
Backup Alarm Relay Current
Open.
Below Normal Continued
1. Remove jumper wire from terminal
E15 and terminal C16 of backup
alarm relay connector (Figure 3).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 19 and terminal 20
of connector W-C8
(WP 0012, Figure 282).
3. Disconnect connector W-C13
(WP 0012, Figure 89) from
transmission/chassis ECM.
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0540), measure resistance
Replace transmission/chassis ECM
between connector W-C13
(WP 0495).
terminal 12 and terminal 16
Proceed to Test Step 4.
(WP 0012, Figure 89).
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
Replace main cab wiring harness
(WP 0505).
Proceed to Test Step 4.
Test Step 4. Verify Malfunction is
Resolved.
1. Ensure all harness connectors are
connected.
2. Ensure backup alarm relay and
flood enable relay are installed on
fuse panel.
3. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
4. At MSD, check for active
144-5 Backup Alarm Relay Current
diagnostic codes (WP 0008).
Below Normal Becomes Inactive
Troubleshooting complete.

Below Normal Remains Active
Repeat troubleshooting from the
beginning.
