CAMSHAFT REPLACEMENT (CONT).
b.
Cleaning/inspection.
(1)
Inspect camshaft lobes for cracks, scratches, grooves, or pitting.
(2)
Check camshaft for wear using a micrometer.
(3)
If camshaft does not measure within indicated tolerances, replace camshaft.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Coat all parts with clean engine oil.
(2)
Install four valve tappets (3).
(3)
Install camshaft (1) in crankcase (2).
