WARNING
Nitrogen gas is highly compressed. Wear eye protection. Use care when charging
hydraulic accumulator. Dry nitrogen is the only gas approved for use in accumulator. Any
other gas may cause failure of accumulator or injury to personnel. Do not point nitrogen
gas discharge line at personnel. Do not charge hydraulic accumulator over 500 psi
(3447 kPa). Failure to follow these warnings may cause injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Hydraulic accumulator charge pressure should be 500 psi (3447 kPa).

Turn knob (Figure 14, Item 1) counterclockwise until knob is loose.
8. Close valve (Figure 14, Item 9) by turning handle (Figure 14, Item 4) clockwise until handle is loose.
9. Close charge valve (Figure 14, Item 6) by turning handle (Figure 14, Item 7) counterclockwise until handle
stops.
10. Connect fitting (Figure 14, Item 6) to hydraulic accumulator fitting (Figure 14, Item 8).
11. Connect regulator (Figure 14, Item 11) to dry nitrogen tank valve (Figure 14, Item 10).
12. Slowly open dry nitrogen tank valve (Figure 14, Item 10) by turning knob (Figure 14, Item 3) counterclockwise.
13. Adjust regulator (Figure 14, Item 11) by slowly turning knob (Figure 14, Item 1) clockwise until gauge
(Figure 14, Item 2) reads 500 psi (3447 kPa).
14. Open charge valve (Figure 14, Item 6) by turning handle (Figure 14, Item 7) clockwise until handle stops.
15. Slowly open valve (Figure 14, Item 9) by turning handle (Figure 14, Item 4) counterclockwise.
16. When gauge (Figure 14, Item 5) reads 500 psi (3447 kPa) close valve (Figure 14, Item 9) by turning handle
(Figure 14, Item 4) clockwise until handle stops.
17. Close charge valve (Figure 14, Item 6) by turning handle (Figure 14, Item 7) counterclockwise until handle
stops.
18. Close dry nitrogen tank valve (Figure 14, Item 10) by turning knob (Figure 14, Item 3) clockwise until knob
stops.
19. Close regulator (Figure 14, Item 11) by turning knob (Figure 14, Item 1) counterclockwise until knob stops.
20. Disconnect charging valve (Figure 14, Item 6) from hydraulic accumulator fitting (Figure 14, Item 8).
21. Disconnect regulator (Figure 14, Item 11) from dry nitrogen tank valve (Figure 14, Item 10).
