BRAKE SHOE INSTALLATION CONTINUED
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to
personnel.
Wear eye protection when removing spring.Spring under tension may disconnect with tool
and become a projectile. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
NOTE
Brake shoe weighs 62 lb (28 kg).
Support lower brake shoe while removing spring.
7. Using assistance, raise lower brake shoe (Figure 19, Item 3) into position and install two springs
(Figure 19, Item 1) on upper brake shoe (Figure 19, Item 2) and lower brake shoe (Figure 19, Item 3).
