MALFUNCTION

Load Cylinder Rod Does Not
Extend Fully Continued
The following steps should be performed in continuous sequence. Read
the steps to learn the sequence before performing them.
8. Test volume of oil leakage as
follows:
a. Hold open end of drain line
(Figure 3, Item 2) in clean
drain pan.
b. Have assistant turn battery
disconnect switch to ON
position and start engine
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
c.
Have assistant set and lock
engine speed at high idle
(approximately 2,000 RPM)
using throttle lock
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
d. Have assistant turn cushion
hitch on (TM 5-3805-296-10).
e. Wait five seconds, move open
end of drain line to suitable
clean container, wait thirty
seconds, and then move open
end of drain line back into
drain pan.
f.
Have assistant turn cushion
hitch off (TM 5-3805-296-10).
g. Have assistant turn throttle
lock off and return engine
speed to idle
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
h. Have assistant turn ignition
switch and battery disconnect
switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).

Using graduated beaker,
Oil Volume Less Than 5,000 ml
(5.0 L) Remove cap and install drain
measure volume of oil in
line on fitting. Wait five minutes to purge
container.

Step 4.
Oil Volume 5,000 ml (5.0 L) or Greater
Remove cap and install drain line on
fitting.
Replace cushion-hitch pump
(WP 0281).
Proceed to Test Step 7.
