Solenoid Circuit A519.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Cushion Hitch Wiring Harness High Resistance or Open.
Transmission Wiring Harness High Resistance or Open.
Chassis Wiring Harness High Resistance or Open.
Hydraulic Oil Temperature High Resistance or Open.
Cushion Hitch Solenoid.
Transmission/Chassis ECM.
Test Step 1. Test for Open Cushion
Hitch Solenoid.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Disconnect connector C-C2
(WP 0012, Figure 127) from
cushion hitch solenoid connector
(WP 0012, Figure 126).
3. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 1 and terminal 2
of connector C-C2
(WP 0012, Figure 127).
4. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
1289-6 Cushion Hitch Solenoid
5. At MSD, check for active
Current Above Normal Becomes
diagnostic code 1289-5 Cushion
Active Replace cushion hitch
solenoid (WP 0406).
Normal (WP 0008).
Proceed to Test Step 6.
1289-5 Cushion Hitch Solenoid
Current Below Normal Remains
Active Proceed to Test Step 2.
Test Step 2. Test Cushion Hitch
Wiring Harness for High Resistance
or Open.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Do not remove jumper wire from
terminal 1 and terminal 2
of connector C-C2
(WP 0012, Figure 127).
