USING ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN (ET) CONTINUED
Status Groups
0008
ET software gathers streaming ECM input and output data, categorizes the data by ECM (Figure 21, Item 9) and
status group (Figure 21, Item 12), then displays the data on the screen (Figure 21, Item 10) by description
(Figure 21, Item 4). These descriptions are parameters monitored by the ECMs, and are displayed in various units
of measure (Figure 21, Item 5, 6, 7, and 8).
Status groups (Figure 21, Item 12) are lists of the machine's parameters (Figure 21, Item 3) that are monitored by
each ECM (Figure 21, Item 11), and are shown in real time. Use the status groups and parameters as a diagnostic
aid when troubleshooting machine malfunctions.
1. To access status groups, select status icon (Figure 21, Item 1).
2. Select the applicable status group (Figure 21, Item 12) on the left panel (Figure 21, Item 2), then select the
applicable parameter (Figure 21, Item 3) to view the data.
3. To exit status groups, select any icon at top of ET screen.
4. If no further MSD operation is required, exit ET and disconnect MSD when finished as described under
Disconnecting MSD in this work package.
