ENGINE STARTING AND MACHINE WARM-UP CONTINUED
3. Turn ignition switch to the on (I) position but DO NOT start engine (WP 0004). Allow monitoring system to per-
form self diagnostic functional test.
C AU T I O N
DO NOT crank engine for more than 30 seco ds. Allow starting motor to cool for two
n
minutes before cranking again or damage to starting motor or batteries may result.
If engine oil pressure does not rise or engine oil pressure indicator light does not go out
within 10 seconds after engine starts, stop engine and perform troubleshooting. Failure to
follow this caution may result in engine damage.
4. Turn ignition switch and hold in the start
position. Release ignition switch after engine starts.
5. Operate engine at low idle for five minutes to warm up engine. During warm-up, monitor instrument panel
gauges for any signs of abnormal temperatures or pressures. Shut down engine at the first sign of a problem.
6. Continue to warm up machine as follows:
a. If temperature is above 32F (0C), warm up machine for a total of approximately 15 minutes.
b. If temperature is 32F (0C) or lower, warm up machine for a total of approximately 30 minutes.
c.
If temperature is 0F (-18C) or lower, or if hydraulic functions are sluggish, additional time may be
needed.
7. Slowly operate hydraulics (steering, bowl, apron, ejector) to assist in hydraulic system warmup. Ensure that all
are functioning properly.
