ALTERNATOR BRACKET REMOVAL CONTINUED
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure
to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Alternator bracket weighs approximately 60 lb (27 kg).
9. Using assistance and lifting device, support alternator bracket (Figure 5, Item 2).
10. Remove two bolts (Figure 5, Item 7) and washers (Figure 5, Item 8) from alternator bracket
(Figure 5, Item 2).
11. Using assistance and lifting device, remove alternator bracket (Figure 5, Item 2) from front housing
(Figure 5, Item 1), and place on flat surface.
NOTE
Idler pulley removal is necessary only if idler pulley is damaged. If removed, discard idler
pulley.
Note position and location of idler pulleys, bolts, and spacers to aid in installation.
12. Remove two bolts (Figure 5, Item 6), washers (Figure 5, Item 5), idler pulley (Figure 5, Item 4), and spacers
(Figure 5, Item 3) from alternator bracket (Figure 5, Item 2). Discard two idler pulley assemblies.
