TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
NOTE
1429-03 Tractor System Air
Pressure Sensor Voltage
Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor
Above Normal
connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit.
Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure and that all
connections are in good condition. If a problem with the connection is
found, correct the problem and verify that this malfunction or diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short-circuit test at each harness connection to identify
the correct harness to replace.
Tag all wiring harnesses to aid in installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE SET CONDITION
Transmission/Chassis ECM Detects Above Normal Voltage on Trac/S Air Press
Sensor Circuit C465.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Main Cab Wiring Harness High Resistance, Open, or Shorted.
Tractor Air Pressure Sensor.
Transmission/Chassis ECM.
Test Step 1. Test Trac/S Air Press
Sensor Circuit, Battery + Circuit, and
Ground Circuit Function.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Disconnect connector W-C21
(WP 0012, Figure 75) from tractor
air pressure sensor connector
(WP 0012, Figure 74).
3. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
Voltage Greater Than 5.8 V Proceed
(WP 0540), test for voltage
to Test Step 2.
between connector W-C21
Voltage 4.5 to 5.8 V Proceed to
terminal C and terminal B
step 5.
(WP 0012, Figure 75).
Voltage Less Than 4.5 V Proceed to
Test Step 4.
Voltage 18 to 25 V Proceed to Test
(WP 0540), test for voltage
Step 3.
between connector W-C21
Voltage Less Than 18 V Replace
terminal A and terminal B
main cab wiring harness (WP 0505).
(WP 0012, Figure 75).
Proceed to Test Step 5.
