In running ropes, there are six randomly distributed broken
wires in one rope lay, or three broken wires in one strand in one rope lay.

In pendant or standing ropes, there is more than one broken
wire in one rope lay.
c.
A loss of 1/3 of the original diameter of outside wires by
abrasion, scrubbing or peening is found.
d. There is rope damage from rust, corrosion or heat damage.
e.
There is kinking, crushing or evidence of bird caging.
