REMOVAL CONTINUED
NOTE
Bolts called out in Step 1 are used as forcing bolts in Step 2.
Do not separate bearing housing from flywheel housing until link brackets and lifting
device are installed.
Bearing housing weighs approximately 99 lb (45 kg).
2. Loosely install three forcing bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) in threaded holes on bearing housing (Figure 2, Item 2).
3. Evenly tighten forcing bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) until there is approximately a 3/8" (10 mm) gap between bearing
housing (Figure 2, Item 2) and flywheel housing (Figure 2, Item 6).
4. Install two link brackets (Figure 2, Item 3), bolts (Figure 2, Item 4), and nuts (Figure 2, Item 5) on bearing
housing (Figure 2, Item 2).
5. Install appropriate lifting device on link brackets (Figure 2, Item 3).
6. Using lifting device, evenly tighten forcing bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) and remove bearing housing
(Figure 2, Item 2) from flywheel housing (Figure 2, Item 6). Place bearing housing on flat level surface.
