WARNING
At operating temperature, differential fluid is hot. Allow differential to cool before removing
any transmission components.
To prevent injury to personnel, wear protective eye covering and gloves.
Differential fluid can be very slippery. Immediately wipe up any spills.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid
with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any
component containing fluids.
Use a container to catch any fluid that may drain from hoses or system. Dispose of fluid
IAW local policy and ordinances. Ensure all spills are cleaned up.
Capacity of differential is 32 gallons (121 liters).
When drain pan is nearly full, insert plug back into chassis. Then, properly dispose of used
oil in pan, return drain pan underneath chassis, and remove plug. Repeat this process as
necessary.
1. Position drain pan below drain plug (Figure 1, Item 2).
2. Remove drain plug (Figure 1, Item 2) from chassis (Figure 1, Item 1).
