Sensor Circuit Function.
Sensor Voltage Above
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
Normal Continued
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal C and terminal B of
connector W-C31
(WP 0012, Figure 65).
3. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
1431-4 Pilot Air Pressure Sensor
4. At MSD, check for active
Voltage Below Normal Becomes
diagnostic code 1431-3 Pilot Air
Active Replace supply air pressure
Pressure Sensor Voltage Above
sensor.
Normal (WP 0008).
Proceed to Test Step 5.
1431-3 Pilot Air Pressure Sensor
Voltage Above Normal Remains
Active Replace transmission/chassis
ECM (WP 0495).
Proceed to Test Step 5.
Test Step 4. Test Main Cab Wiring
Harness for High Resistance or
Open.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal C and terminal B of
connector W-C31
(WP 0012, Figure 65).
3. Disconnect connector W-C12
(WP 0012, Figure 88) from
transmission/chassis ECM.
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0540), measure resistance
Replace transmission/chassis ECM
between connector W-C12
(WP 0495).
terminal 12 and terminal 51
Proceed to Test Step 5.
(WP 0012, Figure 88).
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
Replace main cab wiring harness
(WP 0505).
Proceed to Test Step 5.
