CRANE PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION (Continued)
c.
Remote Control System. The remote
control system for crane consists of a shoulder
suspended control (remote control unit) and a
remote control cable. The remote control
system is inoperative without electricity. The
emergency stop switch is the master power
switch for the remote control system. Four
control switches are used to signal electrical
control valves. The remote control cable links
the remote control unit to the electrical control
valves.
d.
Overload Shutdown System. The
overload shutdown system is designed to
disable all functions which may cause tipping
or structural damage when the crane attempts
to lift over its limits. These limits are specified
in the load capacity chart. When the overload
shutdown
system
detects
an
overload
condition the following crane functions are
disabled immediately.
