Holding valves are used to lock or hold
hydraulic oil in a cylinder when a load is held or
suspended. This prevents suspended loads
from creeping downward. Holding valves are
used on all cylinders except the outrigger
extensions. All other cylinders use single
holding valves except the erection cylinder, it
uses a double holding valve. A double holding
valve prevents motion in both directions.
