Turn the stop/run lever counter-clockwise in small amounts until black smoke is emitted from the
exhaust when the engine is accelerated. (It may be necessary to repeat this several times until this is
achieved.
(g)
When black smoke is emitted from the exhaust turn the stop/run lever clockwise by a small amount at
a time until the black smoke just clears and a barely visible haze is emitted.
(h)
Thread screw (17) In until it contacts stop/run lever (7) at the position determined in step g, above.
Lock screw (17) in position by tightening nut (18) against housing (14).
