3-12. HAND BRAKES ADJUSTMENT/INSPECTION.
NOTE
•
There are two hand brakes, one
on each side of the sweeper.
•
When
applied,
hand
brakes
should hold sweeper in place.
a.
Operation. Lift up on hand brake levers (1).
Hand brakes should require firm pressure to lift
into "on" (up) position.
b.
Adjustment.
(1)
Turn adjusting knob (2) clockwise to
increase
breaking
resistance,
counterclockwise to decrease breaking
resistance.
(2)
If hand brakes will not raise to "on"
position, or will not stay in "on" position
after adjustment, report condition to unit
maintenance.
c.
Inspection. Inspect hand brakes for loose and
missing parts, if found, report condition to unit
maintenance.
