position (TM 5-3805-296-10).
Proceed to Test Step 3.
Test Step 3. Test Main Relief Valve
Adjustment.
NOTE
Pressure is adjusted by turing retainer assembly on main relief valve.
Turn retainer assembly either clockwise to increase pressure or
counterclockwise to decrease pressure. One complete turn of retainer
assembly changes pressure approximately 1015 psi (7,000 kPa). If, for
example, recorded pressure difference is only 1800 psi (12,411 kPa),
then turn retainer assembly 1/3 turn clockwise to increase pressure by
approximately 338 psi (2,330 kPa) and bring pressure difference into
specification.
1. Remove cap (Figure 5, Item 2)
from retainer assembly
(Figure 5, Item 1).
NOTE
Do not allow retainer assembly to turn when loosening or tightening nut
on main relief valve.
2. Loosen nut (Figure 5, Item 3), turn
retainer assembly
(Figure 5, Item 1) as necessary to
bring pressure difference into
specification, and tighten nut.
