4-78. BROOM HOOD WIRING HARNESS/CONDUIT REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT).
b. Repair.
NOTE
Repair is accomplished with front hood wiring harness and conduit removed from vehicle.
(1)
Carefully open holes in end of conduit and pull wires through.
(2)
Cut out or remove damaged conduit.
(3)
Cut replacement conduit (refer to Appendix G).
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and
are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use in a
well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and water.
(4)
Clean outside diameter of conduit, inside diameter of couplings, tees, elbows and end caps using PVC primer.
(5)
Pull wires through elbows, couplings, replacement conduit, tee, existing conduit and end caps.
(6)
Apply PVC adhesive to inside diameter of couplings, tees, elbows and end cap and assemble items.
