REMOVAL CONTINUED
WARNING
Ensure that legs do not slide off edge of flange while applying pressure with lockring
compressor.
If legs begin to slide, remove pressure and reposition legs.
If legs slide while lockring compressor is under pressure, tool will become dislodged from
wheel.
Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
WARNING
Wear rubber gloves and eye protection when applying rubber lubricant to tire. Failure to
follow this warning could result in injury to personnel.
CAUTION
Handle should rotate with minimal effort.
If handle becomes hard to rotate, tap wheel flange with a hammer and try to rotate handle.
If handle is still difficult to rotate, check that lockring compressor is installed properly on tire
and wheel assembly.
Failure to follow this caution may result in damage to equipment.
30. Apply rubber lubricant to flange (Figure 9, Item 5) and tire.
31. Slowly rotate handle (Figure 9, Item 4) clockwise to press flange (Figure 9, Item 5) inward until O-ring
(Figure 9, Item 6) is accessible.
32. Remove lock (Figure 9, Item 1) from wheel (Figure 9, Item 2).
WARNING
Use caution when removing lockring and O-ring from wheel. Lockring compressor and
flange are under pressure. Bumping or knocking extension legs or crossmember can
cause lockring compressor to dislodge from wheel assembly.
Keeps hands clear of lockring compressor and tire and wheel assembly. If lockring
compressor becomes dislodged, lockring compressor and flange will move rapidly.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury to personnel.
