WARNING
At operating temperature, final drive fluid is hot. Allow final drive to cool before removing
any transmission components.
To prevent injury to personnel, wear protective eye covering and gloves.
Final drive fluid can be very slippery. Immediately wipe up any spills.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid
with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any
component containing fluids.
Use a container to catch any fluid that may drain from hoses or system. Dispose of fluid
IAW local policy and ordinances. Ensure all spills are cleaned up.
Capacity of final drive is 5.3 gallons (20 liters).
1. Position one final drive (Figure 1, Item 1) so drain plug (Figure 1, Item 3) will be positioned at bottom of
final drive.
2. Position drain pan below drain plug (Figure 1, Item 3).
3. Remove drain plug (Figure 1, Item 3) from final drive (Figure 1, Item 1).
4. Loosen fill plug (Figure 1, Item 2) from final drive (Figure 1, Item 1).
5. Remove fill plug (Figure 1, Item 2) from final drive (Figure 1, Item 1) after fluid has drained.
