WARNING
Pump Makes Unusual Noise
and Cylinder Rods Do Not
Move Evenly
DO NOT disconnect or remove any hydraulic system hoses, tubes, or
fittings unless engine is shut down and hydraulic system pressure has
been relieved. Tighten all connections before applying pressure.
Escaping hydraulic fluid under pressure can penetrate skin.
At operating temperature, hydraulic oil is hot. Allow hydraulic oil to cool
before removing any hydraulic fitting.
Wear protective eye covering and gloves when performing hydraulic
system testing.
Lubricating/hydraulic oils used in performance of maintenance can be
very slippery. Immediately wipe up any spills.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to
personnel.
NOTE
Incorrect oil viscosity can be a factor in many different hydraulic system
symptoms.
Proceed directly to Test Step 2 if sent here by Implement, Cushion Hitch,
and Steering System Operation Test.
Test Step 1. Verify Malfunction is
Active.
Perform Implement, Cushion Hitch,
Cause of Malfunction Identified and
and Steering System Operation Test
Repaired During Testing
(WP 0172).
Troubleshooting complete.
Cause of Malfunction Not Identified
During Testing, Malfunction Active
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Test Step 2. Test Main Relief
Pressure.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-296-10).
